FAQs
A list of frequently asked questions about all things Australian honey!
-
Yes, our honey is made in hives located across New South Wales Australia, from the South Coast to Central West, to the Snowy Mountains and Northern Victoria. Its the Taste of Wild Australia.
-
Our Organic honey, is produced 100% organically from native Australian floral sources and is USDA Certified Organic/NOP.
-
In order for honey to be certified as organic, beehives are placed more than 3 miles from any cultivated area, which is the maximum area that bees will roam to gather nectar.
This is to keep them in completely untouched environments as they pollinate the flora and produce honey in the hive. These hives are placed in vast tracts of uncultivated bushland & in NSW National Parks. Our organic honey is from 100% native Australian flora such as Ironbark, Blue Gum, Spotted Gum and Peppermint – just to name a few!
Our non-organic honeys are also 100% raw & unfiltered, and 100% Australian made. They are delicious and robust, packed with flavour and natural goodness. The only difference is the that the beehives where these varietals are created are in cultivated regional areas around Australia.

At Wild Nectar, all our honey is 100% raw and cold extracted. This means we don’t heat the honey to pasteurisation temperatures. By only gently warming to ‘hive temp’ we can avoid ultra-processing like most other honey brands, which destroys the delicate sugar structures, pollens, and enzymes within it.
Wild Nectar Honey is kept at low temperatures to maintain all the flavours & goodness that nature intended. You can taste the difference.
-
Crystallisation of honey that has been sitting in your pantry for a while isn’t a sign of poor quality honey. In fact, it’s an indicator that the honey is raw & un-processed. Crystalistion is a natural change that happens over time, especially if the honey is stored in a cool place. Crystalisation can be reversed by gently warming the jar or bottle in a warm water. Otherwise it’s perfectly good for baking, in tea or will melt onto a hot piece of toast!
